I definitely think I would use this blog in my classroom. It will be a great tool for communication between myself and my parents. I can also post assignments and have the students journal back to me. It would benefit my students in so many ways : technology, writing, reflections, questions… I have mentioned to a couple of students in my class, and they can’t wait to try it out. The one major hurdle I have it that blogs are blocked because of our filter. They won’t even let me put this link on the school website. It is a fight worth fighting, because this is so valuable. I can link this to many standards, and that’s what it’s all about right? My Tech Coordinator is 100% behind edublogs, so I am sure I will be on the school website in no time.

Ann, it certainly is a battle worth fighting.
Comment byI think we should all fight the battle together, they say there is success in numbers, right:)
Comment byAnn,
Comment byGreat blog. Fight the good fight.

Ann,
Comment byI am right with you as you know. You are doing a nice job with this site. Why not continue to use it and we can put the link onto the school website. Your audience at home is the one you are trying to access. The issue for you will be maintaining it from home for the time being. Hopefully everyone sent home the surveys about computers and internet in the home. This was one of the reasons I sent those home. The information might be a powerful tool for us. Remind everyone we need as many of those blue surveys returned as possible.
Keep up the good work!
Debbie
Ann,
Comment byI’m on the same page too. Last time we talked you were deciding whether to put up the edublog site on the school web or your previous site (which I still have – I rarely throw anything out). Just let me know which way you want to go. As I said before, and Debbie has repeated, you won’t have access at school to update it right now with the blog, but parents and students will at home. Hopefully this will all be a mute point soon as we move to a different outlook.
Ann,
Comment byDebbie is going to allow you to put this on the school website?
Ron
Ron,
Comment byAbsolutely can be put on HES website, just can’t access it from school.
Debbie
Ann & Debbie,
Comment byLets get some classes together and get everybody on board with whatever Debbie is going to allow us to do on the school web site.
